Pubmarket! supports #HorecaComeback

The COVID pandemic was brutal for the hospitality business. On 20 March 2020, businesses had to close for the first lockdown, and they then lived in extreme uncertainty for a long time about when and how they could open their bars, pubs, clubs and restaurants again. The economic consequences were devastating. This is why the #HorecaComeback initiative wanted to support these entrepreneurs by giving their clients the opportunity to buy food or drink vouchers to use in their favourite restaurant or brasserie. Thanks to #HorecaComback, the entrepreneurs had some financial leeway.

Buying vouchers safely online

The initiative was a collaboration between competitors. Soda moguls, brewers, food and service companies and Pubmarket! all teamed up to launch the online support platform: #HorecaComeback. Belgian consumers could safely buy vouchers from their favourite brasseries and restaurants to give them some financial relief.

All the profit from the vouchers was given to the hospitality entrepreneurs, who could register for free. And it was not only companies that supported one of the largest support initiatives ever for the Belgian hospitality business, organisations such as Toerisme Vlaanderen, Horeca Vlaanderen and their Walloon counterparts also got involved.
